Ok Well im planning on building a new rig here in the next week but im unsure of how big of a power supply im going to end up needing for it. So far the parts i have picked out for it are...

Intell E8440 3.0GHZ
GIGABYTE GA-EP35
Sapphie Radeon HD4850
2x4GB GSkillz DDR-2 800Mhz

The power supply i was looking at getting is Corsair CMPSU-550VX 550W but im unsure if this would be enough to power it if i decide to OC my system.

If you stick to a single graphics card the Corsair 550VX will be fine. I have always been of the opinion that the power supply is the most important part of any system so don't skimp on it. If you can afford a little more money go for something in the 600 - 750W range. Anything from the mainstream manufacturers like OCZ, Corsair, Thermaltake, etc., will do the job. This will give you spare capacity for future upgrades, run cooler and be under less stress.

MageOfGeno, welcome to the forums. That Corsair PSU you choose should be good for any single video card (until they start needing three PCIe power plugs, or two 10 pin or something).

Thx Zap and do you think i should just go with a 600W PSU just to be on the safe side?

Found This PSU for 10$ more then the 550W one, anything bad known about it? or is it just a hella good deal? haha

It is a good deal. Sure, if you have $10 more to spare, another 100W won't hurt.

I just installed a Corsair TX650 into a mid size case. The cables were bulky and there were a lot more of them than I needed. While I'm no expert, if I had to do it over again I would spend the extra bux and get a modular PSU. Not having the extra cables cluttering up the inside of the case and having to figure out where I was going to 'store' them would definitely be worth it.
I now wish I had gotten the HX620.

Haha well im not too worried about the clutter because the case im getting has a lot of space in it and a lot of that space is not getting used so i can just tuck the extra cables here and there.
