Sue would like you to order her a new "No Memory" battery for her laptop. I guess there is on ethat doesn't remember how long between charges, so the use time doesn't diminish if you change your battery frequently. Because her laptop sits in her docking station all the time, her fully charged battery now only lasts about 20 minutes.
I come into work with my mom every Friday and there's an open computer with a good connection and I get a free lunch, so I don't care :D Anyways, the tech guy who does a lot of the stuff for my mom's boss (The company is run out of the boss's house) didn't come in this week and she's going on a business trip in a week and needs a new battery.

Since I know nothing about laptops, I was hoping the good people at Anandtech could help me find one of these "No Memory" batteries that I could use in a Dell Latitude C400. Thanks :)

heheh. That would be any LiIon battery that would fit in that laptop. No memory effect with those.

The memory effect w/ batteries was with older NiCad's. Most NiMH, Li-Ion, and Li-Poly don't have the "memory effect".

The C400 is a new line of Dell laptops, isn't it? It should have a Li-Ion battery. Maybe she should try power cycling it. Drain it completely and then fully charge it overnight. DUnno if it'll help, though

there is no such thing as absolute no memory battery.
but lithium ion batteries have the less memory loss than the most.

just stay away from NiCad

Power cycling for her wouldn't work.. She uses the laptop downstairs, then puts it on the docking station upstairs and it recharges the battery.. It was at 100% charge 10 minutes ago, it's now at 72%..

Just get a battery from ATBATT.COM .. I bought mine from them.

The Li-ion are great but expensive.. I think I have an NiMH batt from them.. so far no memory effect problems.. when connected to the power it discharges and recharges automatically.
