Here are my requirements:
AM3 support 6 Core chips
SATA III
Support at least 8GB RAM
RAID 5
Must support Linux (will probably be ubuntu)

Here are my nice to haves:
On board video (will be a server so high quality is not important)
USB 3.0
Support at least 16GB RAM

I have built a few computers over the years and have always had good luck with ASUS, but ultimately, I am looking for a solid, stable board that is very cost effective so will consider any manufacturer.

During my searches I have come across the following ASUS products M4A88TD, M4A89TD and M4A89GTD, but I am finding they are very close to the Intel boards in price (if not more expensive). I am looking at AMD just to save money . If I can't save much money with AMD, then I will go with Intel.

I will not be Overclocking it at all and do not need Cross Fire.

Thanks a lot.

MSI has what ya need.

were you saying sata 3gb or sata 3. this board only has sata 2.0 3gb by looking at the specs. I know everyone is hyped over sata 3 but show me a drive that runs that fast ???

pretty sure the nvidia 8200 video and chipset 980 series is supported by linux.
