was looking at this escalade

and this looks hot

anyone else got something good? I'm looking for something pretty big, 1:6 sounds good right now. The escalade doesn't look too realistic compared to the porshe. I'm looking for details. Eye candy for someone who will never get a porshe most likely. RC so I can at least have fun with it. Anyone opinions welcomed

for the price range (looking at his examples), he can't afford anything but a toy anyway. Any kind of decent setup should cost him 300+, unless he buys used. But, a lot of the fun is putting it together. :D

<== has a Tamiya TB1 and Tao4

i also vote for an 'actual' RC car, not that walmart crap.

sure, it's a bit more upfront, but it won't break the first time you hit a curb, and you can easily add on better parts as your budget allows...

/uncle got me started when i was six
//dropped off when i graduated from high school but i wanna get started back up again

I think Radio Shack has something for $99 and it is really ghetto. Might be a Hummer H2 with spinners and all. If your trying to find something fun to play with, I'd get it all riced out. However, for the real RC car that you get down the road and invest hundreds into - don't rice that vehicle at all. ;)

will you settle for a gas-powered RC car? Only $300 bucks more and assembly required but will get the girls ;)

gas powered? is that what an 'actual' rc car is? I'm in way over my head. I was looking for something to amuse myself and the dog. Not sure my pockets are deep enough for some of the suggestions

from the escalade reviews:

MAN THIS TO IS THE BOMB, BEST THING I EVER BOUGHT FROM TOY R US
IF YOU BUY ON OF THOS DUBCITY 1:12 SCALE ESCALADES YOU SHOULD BUY A LIL RAMP TOW THAT ESCALADE AROUND WITH THAT ESCALADE AND ITLL REALLY BE PIMPIN!! LIKE I COLLECT ALL THE SCALE CARS I CAN FIND I GOT A WHOLE ROOM FULL OF CAR STUFF AND THIS GOES PERFECT. AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU GOT OTHER R/C CARS CALL A FEW FRIENDS OVER TO RACE AND YOU WILL TOTALLY WIN!!!

lol....

if its just for the dog and some fun, chances are it'll break soon anyway. i wouldn't spend more than 50 bucks on it.

Well, there are gas and electric race class R/C cars. Usually a person sticks with one and looks down on the other. I personally prefer electric as they are much cheaper (especially if something breaks), but I always did rough dirt tracks where there was a high probability of breakage.

Oh yeah, there are the "toy" and the "real" Toy is anything under $200. The last time I bought one, the controller alone for mine was $150. Toy will work, but everyone on this board will laugh at you:)
