Help me find a good domain and web hosting solution...

I am looking for preferebly free web hosting service that has a history of quality service. The reason I need it to be free, (just the web hosting, not the domain,) is that I need to present a webpage to an organization that may not like it, so I can't invest hard cash right away.

So if you have had good experiences with any of the free web hosts that you can later pay for more options, please let me know. I am having a hard time finding credible rating sites on the web.

I will be using Dreamweaver MX, and I hope to make a few interactive pages, like forms and hopefully a bullentin board, but nothing too indepth. Any consultation would be appreciated.

Also, whats the best deal on registering a domain name?

The best deal on registering a domain is NameCheap.com

As for hosting I don't know of any free solutions but I do know of one that's cheap ($20/yr which is $1.67 per month) and that would be Dixiesys.com. Best of all they currently have a 2 for 1 sale. So you pay $20 and get TWO webhosting packages.

You're asking for alot from a free site. I've found you get what you pay for. Cyber-wings people feel free to disagree 😀 Check out www.pair.com if you want a quality host and don't mind paying for great service.

Wow! and I thought where I work charges quite a bit for hosting! pair.com looks pretty good though. I think any hosting provider that supports e-commerce usually charges more than the cheapies... I've always wondered how the cheap hosting companies make their money. They must either scrimp on so stuff or they sell a lot of accounts. Heck our internet bill is 20k a month!
