Ever since we have gotten the upgrade to 8/768 with comcast, our internet has been flaky. Here is a trace route test going to yahoo. As it shows, I am taking packet losses to the first hop outta my router. If I try to just ping the first hop it also shows I losing packets. Pinging to just my router shows it running flawlessly.
Here is my connection page from the linksys router.

Acquire Downstream Channel 687000000 Hz Locked
Connectivity State OK Operational
Boot State OK Operational
Security Enabled BPI

Downstream Channel
Lock Status Locked
Modulation QAM256
Channel ID 2
Symbol Rate 5360.537 Ksym/sec
Downstream Power -10.3 dBmV
SNR 34.1 dB
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upstream Channel
Lock Status Locked
Modulation QAM16
Channel ID 1
Symbol Rate 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream Power 38.0 dBmV
I don't think that my low downstream power would be the problem as it's been this way for years, and it has always worked fine.
Running speed tests during the times when its really bad shows like less than 100K down and less than 50K up. When it's working fine, I get the 8/768 speeds.
How should I approach comcast if you think that's where the problem lies?
