Not talking about Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

According to IMDB and Wikipedia, there have been three (3) dif't "iterations":

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (film)

Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003 TV series)
(3 DVDs, 25 episodes, released to DVD in 2005)

and

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 TV series)

The TV Series is on Cartoon Network, so I assume that the 2003 series was there as well.

1) The 3rd one is just now wrapping up, so how can Blockbuster have the DVD? They have it out before the broadcast on Cartoon Network?

2) What "order" do they go in, as far as the Star Wars universe goes? Is it:

2003 TV Series
2008 "movie" (my 1st link up above)
2008 TV Series

No, the 2008 series is not after the 2003 series. Revenge of the Sith begins immediately after the 2003 series.

The new Clone Wars series is essentially a redo of the 2003 series with everything expanded and CGI'd. The Clone Wars movie kicked off the new TV series.

So, it would be:
2003 series exists by itself.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie starts off the Clone Wars TV series.

The 2003 "mini-episode" series was freakin AWESOME. It was drawn by Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky and, much like SJ, relied on sound effects, music, and actions to tell stories rather than dialog.

The new series takes place after the 2003 series. It's not AS good, but it is very watchable.

Agreed. The 2003 stuff was incredibly good. The 2008 stuff.... well its watchable, but only if you're like 10years old. My 7yr old loves it.

No, the 2003 series led directly into Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith. Literally. The 2003 series ended with the "kidnapping" of the Chancellor and the Seperatists attacking over Coruscant which is where The Revenge of the Sith opened up.

The new Clone Wars is a complete reimagining of the 2003 series.

Yes, my son loves it. I find it highly annoying from all the breaks in established Star Wars universe it makes. Even from the prequels.

It's also kind of sad watching because you ultimately know where they all end up. Like watching the Disney movie Dinosaur knowing that there is no happy ending because all the characters are going to be extinct.

Oh look, there's A'soka. Isn't she so cute and spunky? Such a shame she's going to be executed.

The best thing is that Anakin isn't a whiney little b!tch like he was in the movies.

sadest thing is watching all the white armored boys dropping and almost feeling bad for it, only to know later they are all bad guys.

Funny. To me, that thought is a silver lining to an otherwise horrible show :p

2003 Clone Wars was incredibly well done.

2008? Is ok for a kid's show, but crappy as regular entertainment.
