My fat ass can't even do five right now. I'm at work and just drive doing two and I almost couldn't make it back up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit

I've been doing at least five a day. I'm getting farther ahead than I was when I first posted this post. It actually feels good when I rip my muscles. I love that feeling in my arms. It's quite nice. Thanks for all the support and advice I received here.

Should I try as hard as I can to get back up? When should I start trying to do three? Should my goal be 10 at one time or should it be 3 full pushups right now?

Do as many as you can (1, 2, 10) and go until you cannot do any more. (As in, you're on your third, get halfway up and you physically just stop moving. You're still trying, but not moving. Hold that for a few seconds and then let yourself down)

Rest up, then do it again. Maybe 3-5 times. Give yourself a couple days and do the same thing again.

You could also try variations including (but not limited to):

- Lay out flat, but have your hands on a chair so the force needed to get back up isn't your full body weight.
- Do "girl push-ups" (balance on your knees instead of toes). Go for like 50-100 this way. The repetition will be good.

I just did three solid pushups. I was gonna do more but I'm in a supermarket and the big bosses are here walking around doing their thang.

And as far as anyone being able to help me through a forum, a few people already have. Just giving sound advice helps me out, a lot.

Instead of struggling to do 3-4 pushups, why not work out your muscles on bench press with dumb bells etc at home or the gym. The more reps you can do, your endurance will build up. This is a more effiecent work out for you.

After a while you will notice that you can do more pushups. Then you can do as much as you want at work.

Do the hardest inch. Either the top inch or the bottom inch. Do AS MANY AS POSSIBLE.

Take 1 day off, and do it again the next day. Believe me, you will be able to up the number of reps the next time significantly. Do this for one week, then try to do as many full pushups as you can and it'll be 10-12 at least.

I guarantee this method. My roommate used it and can do 50 at a time in a period of 1 month. He does 4 sets of that each day and has developed a nice back and chest.

Just keep doing them till you can't do anymore, and suggested, maybe try them on your knees, the workout won't be as rigourous, but it seems it'll be more than theyve had, and the more the better to get them conditioned for doing them. do them whenever you can, if you're watching tv or something and there is a commercial break, drop down and start sweating! good luck!

Yeah that commercial break thing, a lot of people have been telling me to do that. Do as many as you can during the television break lol.

Males gotta do minimum of 13 to go forward to Army basic training. Females have to do 1 I believe. Better get crackin!

Don't be afraid to do the so called "girlie" push-ups on your knees for a good burn in for train up. You're pushing less weight that way, which should help you to build up.

I did 68 in two minutes on my last PT test. How old are you? I'll give you the goal for your age group in the Army for something to work toward, that is if you're interested.

People always say to leave a day between bench pressing to get optimal results. It makes sense that this would be true with pushups, right?

I hate to be blunt, but the reason you can?t do pushups is because of your "fat ass". Ok with that said.

Pushups are the one of the best exercises you can do outside of a gym with no equipment. All you need is a floor and yourself. They are also rather difficult to do if you are just starting. So if you want to do more, just practice. Do as many as you can every day for the next month. Set a goal of doing 10 pushups. Do 10, stopping as many times as you need to. 10 sets of 1 is fine, but 5 sets of 2 is better, and so on. Work up to 1 set of 10.

Second, start doing cardio. You'll begin to lose some weight. Less weight = easier to do a pushup.

Finally, change your diet. Eat healthier (assume you don?t eat healthy of course). This will keep the weight off so you can do more pushup.

Now drop and give me 10.

People are wrong though. If you don't see gains in your strenght or reps, take more days off. Sure, it might be hard, but you will build more muscle, and let the muscle you already have heal 100%. I didn't believe it myself until I started a new program called Train Smart!, which I highly recommend as a read to anyone who lifts weights and wants results. At first I downloaded the ebook from popular sites, but since I liked it so much, I actually spent the $30 on it. Great program really. I already upped my max squat and benchpress by over 100 lbs.

Eating healthy is easier said than done!!! I try my hardest to curve eating pizza for lunch and Wendys for dinner. But that is what is available to me!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so lazy that I don't even try to prepare me home lunch like tuna sandwich, with leatuce, onions, healthy stuff. ERRRRRRR

I just did a bunch of pushups and I can totally feel them in my upper arms. I want to do them till I can't move my arms anymore!!!!!!!!!!! Gonna try, just for you ATOT!

BigMac's produce FatSack's, if your large enough to the point where you can't do more than a 2 or 3 loose weight before you start thinking about getting buff.
