I know it's a bad idea. I know you all have had bad experiences with building computer's for friends who don't know much about computers, but my friend WON'T LISTEN TO ME!

Can anyone provide stories or links to threads in which people regret building a computer for a technologically illiterate friend?

Don't worry, we all have horror stories.

Iono about links, but I will NEVER build a computer for anyone outside of immediate family. I'll give advice, but then whatever happens, its not my fault.

Just explain to him that if he builds it, the guys gonna come back to him every time he has a problem and unless you're getting paid to give tech support it's not worth the hassle.

EDIT: i should note, sometimes i regret building my parents computer because they lean on me quite a bit for help with things that they could do on their own with a litle research and reading.
