Help me diagnose this freeze problem? K7M...

Machine sporadically freezes during Quake3A, but the weird thing is what I have to do to get the machine to POST again:

K7M w/Athlon-700
2 sticks 128mb Micron PC-133 (note: the mb is designed for PC-100 ? I bought PC-133 believing I might soon grab the K7V)

Get this: In order to get the machine to POST after a crash in Q3A, I have to remove a stick of RAM and either replace it in a different slot or leave it out altogether. I don?t understand the physics of what is happening to RAM during a crash, but... WTF?

A little history on the machine: The original configuration had only a single stick of RAM that eventually proved itself to be bad, causing crashes in Diablo2. Once replaced, the machine ran flawlessly for 6 months. About 2 months ago, I clean-installed Win2K and then a month later added a second stick of RAM. Obviously, I?ve had problems with a bad stick of memory with this machine before, and am curious of this issue is a case of lightning striking twice (ANOTHER bad stick of RAM) or is my mb ready to be my dog?s next chew-toy?

I?ve tried stick 1 in slot 1 & 2 with stick 2 in slots 2, 3 and 3 respectively. The machine runs fine (so far) with only the single stick of ?good? RAM (though, I haven?t tried running the machine on only the most-recently purchase RAM)

I wonder if using PC-133 RAM on the K7M is asking for trouble. I?m looking for an excuse to by the K7V, but I?d rather be sure I have good RAM before doing so. Any advise?

Thanks!
