Help me diagnose hardware problem....

BD2003

I just got around switching all the fans on my pc to super quiet fans. Of course, afterwards, it wouldnt boot up.

Sometimes I press it and it gives continuous, long beeps. Sometimes nothing at all. The little bracket on the back with diagnostic lights either hangs at cpu error, or goes on to stall at early memory init.

This is similar to what happens when I OC it too far, but it usually comes back to life after 10 mins or so and will boot again. Not anymore.

Ive tried both ram sticks by themselves, and it was the same. Besides, I doubt both sticks will go out at the exact same time. Ive tried reseating the VGA card, didnt make a difference.

So right now I'm thinking its CPU or motherboard. Will a bad CPU take out the mobo as well, or will I be fine with just popping a new CPU in there?

You haven't removed everything except cpu, hard drive, and video card? That includes all the new fans you put in. You did say it didn't work after changing the fans. Hopefully you didn't short something out while changing the fans.

Ive unplugged all the new fans, all the drives, and I left all the cards exactly as they were, since it worked fine before.
