Help me diagnose a weird video problem

Little background, my desktop was working fine in games on sunday and on Monday when I tried to play WoW it lets me into the game, then freezes and all I see are green squiggly lines and the mouse pointer. I can exit back into windows. I also tried halflife 2 and Sims2. Both die as well but I can't get back into windows. I did nothing new to the system and already checked cooling, video card fan is going and all system fans are working. In fact I recently cleaned all the dust out of the case and fans. I also made sure my monitor is connected securely. It is literally like someone flipped a switch. Windows works fine...it seems to have to do with anything 3d.

Here are my specs:
NForce 4 DFI lanparty SLI
AMD 3700+
Evga 6800 GT
SB Audigy 2
OCZ Plat Edition 1 ghz
Enermax 500 watt PSU (which is new as of 3 weeks ago or so)

I can't figure out what is going on. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling video drivers. No good. Can anyone help?

Since you've already checked your video card's fan, have you checked the mobo's northbridge fan (if it has one).

The funny thing is the northbridge fan did die just a little while ago and I replaced it so that isn't the problem :-(
