Help me determine if this mobo connector is standard or not

My ASUS laptop came with a secondary empty HDD space but the fine folks at ASUS did not include the SATA connector in it.

It looks like this:

..but no longer on sale and even when it was it was a ridiculous price to pay.
The connector to the right attaches to the mobo. Does it look like anything standard to you or is it some proprietary ASUS thing? If I could find a third party (flexible?) part I could throw an SSD there and not sacrifice the DVD drive..

No cursing in the technical forums please.

I think those are sort of standardized - but even if the connector was, the size/dimensions would vary between laptops. If you could find a flexy-ribbon-type one (older Macbooks used them) you might try it. I don't recall them being particularly expensive.

If you can't buy a busted laptop on ebay for salvage parts, the DVD swap is your best bet, IMO.
