okay here are the choices:
Pentium3 700e $219
Iwill VD-133 w\Raid
Micron 128MB PC133 $146
-----------------------
$513

AMD Duron 600mhz $76
Asus A7v $189
Micron 128MB PC133 $146
------------------------
$411

or I can go to http://www.advanceddesignky.com/
and get a frigin P3 @ 1008Mhz with mobo and RAM for $675

You gotta help me I am totally stumped
by the way i plan to overclock the first two choices.

Get the Duron. It supposevly overclocks GREAT, and your saving $100. Use it to buy some games or something 😛

Price aside, the Duron does not appear to be as good a performer as the P3 Coppermines and by a significant margin. Also the Coppermines have a very good track record as overclockers (especially the cB0's) .

The real issue is whether you should get a new Athlon Thunderbird system, which is generally seen as a bit better than the Coppermine. But they're too new to get good mobos and comparative reviews yet.

The Duron will likely prove to be a Celeron killer, not a Coppermine eater.

And be sure to check out this before you buy that board:
