Looking to decide where I want to toss some of my tax return:

I really originally wanted a Dell 2405 screen but apparently from responses to another thread my system is too slow to have the same experience as on my 21" Sony Trinitron.

I'm looking for opinions if this was 'your' box where you'd toss some cash. Obviously I'm not tossing out my 6800GT's yet so I'm not getting a video soloution yet. My gut tells me go to a dual core AMD X2 and new mobo.

Sony CPD G560 21" Monitor
(2) 6800 BFG GT OC (SLI)
1 GB (2)x512mb Corsair PC4000
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
3000+ A64
Thermaltake 680W PS
Lian-Li PC1000 case
Creative Audigy2

There's no need to upgrade the MB. Proc only if you heavily multitask. Your comp seems just fine to me.

Edit: The cards are just fine to run that monitor (except for some really new games at max settings), but your existing monitor is fine as well, so why upgrade?

I'd get the lcd. Your system is pretty good except you might consider adding another gig of memory to it.

Why bother upgrading anything? You system can run everything fine right now. Maybe another gig of RAM, but seriously...shove that tax refund in savings and get some interest so that when you REALLY need to upgrade, you'll have the cash and a little extra.
