Help me decide

I'll be into gaming and intend to OC. I just bought a 6600GT card. I'm liking the Epox EP-9NDA3J right now. Will I just be rolling the dice by getting the 3000+, hoping to get a good clock speed when I OC? Or should I expect a reasonably good OC with a 3000+? I'd hate to end up with only a 1.8 GHz clock speed!

Or should I hedge my bets and get the 3200+? Is it really worth the extra $45 or so?

I would spend the extra 45 bucks if I had it on the 3200+. They may or may not overclock to similar levels (luck of the draw but overall the 3200 isn't going to overclock much better than a 3000+) but you have the 10 multiplier with the 3200+. If you decide you don't want to overclock (or have problems) you have 200 extra Mghrtz speeds. Just my .02

i know several people with that board that have 3000s running at 2.4ghz and above. they have no problems running high htt.

Either one works. You can get A64 3000+ and Thermalright XP-90 or A64 3200+ and stock cooling.

If you can wait until May 6th, order AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 512K 90nm Rev. E (ie. Venice) (ADA3000DAA4BP) or 3200+ model steppings on Monarch.
