I'm not interested in MP3 or adding amps or preamps. It's going in my Kelmark kit car that is relatively loud and rough riding. I need something well made that sounds good on FM and CD. It should be easy to use and vibration resistant.

So far I'm looking at the following:

Alpine CDA-7876, 7873, 7875

Sony CDX-M770, M670 and M620

Panasonic CQ-DF801U, DRX901U and DFX701U

Please let me know if you actually own one of these and what you like or dislike about it.

Alpine. Not sure which model from the list, since I don't know them overly well, but any one is probably a safe bet. Avoid Sony like the plague.

The quality of Sony stuff has plummeted over the past few years. I own an Alpine CDA-7863. I suppose the 7873 is this years model. I've had zero problems with it. Haven't hit a bump that's caused it to skip either.

if you're not planning on adding any amps, I'd suggest one of the newer Pioneers---the built in amps on them are a little more robust than most others

To bad about Sony. Use to be good stuff.

Anyone have any comments about Panasonic?
