note- location only a factor for the first 8 months of work, afterwards I will have enough saved up to make the downpayment for a small place closer to work.
Cliff Notes:
1. Two sister organizations for same work for same money
2. Location A is an 80 minute one way commute, but might relocate next to location B in Nov. Not hiring until Nov., but potentially longer like Feb. Location better to do second masters degree if they don;t move.
3. Location B is 120 minutes away, hiring around july but friends at loacation A said that the pormotion system is better at location A.
4. If I choose poorly there will be no profit.
The Full Monty-
I'm going to do procurement type work for the gov. I have 1 place where I interned at when I was an undergrad which is an 80 minute drive from me that I liked working at but had to turn down a job offer so I could go to grad school. Or I can start work at another place (different organization, kinda) an extra 40 minute drive away (2 hour commute each way) and their pay scale isn't as good, but within range.
Here is the catch, the place that is 80 minutes away might relocate to another loaction that is very close to the place that is a 2 hour commute away (the properties are almost touching). but they won't know until maybe November.
The place that is 80 minutes away is close to school where I would like to get a second and maybe a third masters degrees. The other place is far enough away where I might not be motivated enough to go to school part time while working full time since I already have 1 masters.
so Do I sit on my ass until November to find out if I have a shot at the place that is 80 minutes away or start work in sometime around July at the place that is 2 hours away and has a slightly less attractive pay scale?
