help me decide on a new mbp

so, i'm gonna need a laptop and after doing iphone dev this semester I figured I would get another mbp (especially since the refresh). but, i'm between what to get. i think i've determined I don't need a giant 17" and definitely don't want a 13" (because i'll be deving and photoshoping) so 15" is what i've decided on so far. but, because of my student discount I can get the i7 for 1999 or the cheapest i5 for 1699. thing is, i'm going to swap the drive out for an ssd no matter what. i suppose the boost in graphic mem would help in photoshop, but I don't use it that much and i think the difference between i5 and i7 is negligible since the most hardcore thing i will be doing is watching 1080p movies...

anywho, anyone want to help me decide?
anyone got a matte screen version yet? i've yet to see a single review on them...

I have the matte 17" with i5 and 8GB of RAM. Since you aren't doing anything 3D, I say just get the cheapest i5 with the high-res matte and you're golden. Maybe bump the RAM to 8GB. I've found I've always been more RAM limited than anything in multitasking on my old MacBook.

I would probably stick with the i5, and if you're debating on the i7: get the resolution upgrade. And yes, RAM is always great with OSX, I find that my MBP is only limited by its measly 2GB.
