help me decide, need advice

I'm looking to buy a new video card. Currently have a ATI 9000 pro. Good card but I need something with more beef and that supports dx9. prefer something dx9 100%. I don't want to spend more than 250 maybe 300 bucks. I'll go with anything. Would like to try out a nvidia card but I want to with the best card for the money. I would love to get a x800 pro but that's just a little too rich. Give some suggestions on cards and where to buy. Thanks
