Okay guys I'm ordering Thursday so here's the deal. I am ordering for sure :

Epox 8rda+
2100+ 'B'
Radeon 9700 Pro (possibly 9500 Pro)
512megs Corsair PC2700 (this is still iffy but probable)

I already have my Slot-Load DVD-Rom, CD-RW, and my 80gb WD SE in a box waiting to go.

Here's my dilemma. I have no idea what case/psu to get. I know I like the Chieftec Dragon and Matrix cases and I really want to spend $150 or less shipped for case/psu combined. HELP! I would like to have a side fan but a window is not required. I don't mind having a window but at this time I don't feel like paying for one unless it fits in my budget.

Thanks guys.

Oh, and if you have time throw out some recommendations for a good heat sink on this rig. I was thinking about the SK7.

Chieftec Scorpio Series.

You can get in either midi or full tower.
Can be brought with window.
Most have side fans as standard.
You can fits loads of cooling in it.
Multiple Colours available as well.
They come with a 360w Chieftec PSU.

I have the Scorpio Full Tower Black (TA10-BLD)
Its great, loads of room, for everything.

For CPU fan:
Thermalright SLK-800 & a silent 80mm fan. I have a YS-Tech Silent(20dBa, 27CFM) on my SLK-800

No point in buying anything other than genuine Antec, simply because it'll automatically have a good psu. Check it out at Pricegrabber, for example, you can get the top of the line sx1080amg for less than $150, delivered, and several of their lesser boxes for considerably less....

Their new Sonata looks nice, too, hope you bought black drives, if that's what you want...

I actually have white drives as I don't really care about the look of them... that's what the door is for ;)

Besides.. I've never seen anything but a white slot-loader.

BTW... is a fan like the one you suggested going to be enough to keep that 2100+ cool enough? I do plan on OC'n on air but definately don't want a system that sounds like a jet. I have no intention of trying to get 2500mhz or anything like that out of it.

Check out SilentPCReview.com. Most people don't require anywhere near the wattage they buy for their PSUs. When it comes to power supplies, for me, quieter is better. Having multiple fans screaming through an under-worked power supply all the time is a bit annoying IMO. I just ordered a Seasonic to replace my current Enermax which is by far and away the loudest thing in my PC. For the cost of modding it with Panaflos and increasing its temperatures, I figured I might as well by a quieter one instead.

The power supply in the Chieftec is a rebranded Antec PSU, so its high quality.
Fingolfin269, the hs i suggested, is, apart from the SLK-900, the best air cooler out.
It`ll do you far over XP2100, and cool it well even if you OC it.

Check to see if your Best Buy has the Antec SX-835 for $55. Some members were getting the "II" version for that price. I got the original SX-835 (not the "II") as an open box for $45.

Comes with a dual fan 350 watt power supply. Can't beat this case for performance, ease of installation, and quality, especially if you can get it for $55.

I use the Thermalright SLK-800 heat sink with a variable speed Thermaltake fan, just so I can adjust the CPU fan speed to get the best performance for the lowest noise ratio I can (and of course Artic Silver III).

The reason I used the SLK-800 is I don't want to hassle with the screw down method (personal preference, not that its bad) and this heat sink uses all three socket mounts for a secure installation.

Good luck with your selection and system build.
