I am currently using a Abit BH6 motherboard with 2 udma 33 ide controllers on it. I currently have 1 ata66 hard drive and 12x10x32x ide burner and ide cdrom. I am looking at buying an addon ide controller now so i don't have any of the drives sharing an ide. Looking at some websites it appears i have a few choices. In Australian dollard I can get a Promise ATA100 addon card for $75.90 http://www.promise.com/Products/idecards/u100.htm
or a promise Fasttrack raid card for $196.35 http://www.promise.com/Products/ideraid/ft100page.htm
the best value one I saw was the Abit hot rod 100 Pro Ezraid which is $86.90 http://www.abit.com.tw/english/product/peripheral cards/h100.htm
now obviously i only have one hdd so won't be using the raid feature but for $11 more the abit looks like a good deal. Are there any known problems with the Abit chipset that make it cheaper? Also i will be using windows 2000 incase that makes a difference. Also a final question do you believe it is worth me buying the addon card?
