Help me connect PS2/GameCube to PC.

I just built my kids a budget PC for their room to watch DVDs, play games, and surf the Web.

I would love to connect their PS2 and GameCube systems to the PC as well.

I built a really basic system using an older NVidia MX400 card that has a S-Video input. I'm thinking that I need to convert the signal from the two game systems to S-Video and try it out. Not sure if this will work.

The PS2 has a coax output, and the GameCube has 3 RCA jacks for output.

Oh yeah and to complicate matters, I'd like to connect their VCR as well. VCR has all the standard inputs/outputs.

Anyone tried something similar? Any suggestions?

Thanks all.

You should be able to buy a cable for the PS2 (and probably the Gamecube) that output S-Video.

Seems like you'd have to fire up the PC everytime you want to play with the consoles, though. Should be a converter box somewhere to go from S-Video to VGA....hmmm...

Edit: All I can find are boxes that run in the $120 dollar range.

Thanks Cobolman. Yeah, the PC would have to be on wouldn't it? Hmmm, didn't think of that. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks.

Okay, I found the answer. Just picked up this little baby.

It did the trick. Now I've connected PS2, GameCube, Cable TV, and FM Radio to my kid's PC. The card also does video capture. Good $30 spent.
