Ok, so I'm interested in building a new system. For now, I only want to concentrate on the parts listed in the topic. What's the best possible configuration with around $1000 to spend? I intend for this to be a gaming pc, definitely some overclocking, pretty much a performance machine. So, what are your recommendations?

I'd go with a better PSU than the antec lines being mentioned, it's not a bad PSU, but for the money it's not really all that good.

YOU DO NOT NEED A 500W PSU FOR A NON SLI COMPUTER.

Sorry, just needed to get that out the way now :p

RAM: You really want to be looking at 2gb there, value RAM is the best bang for buck by a long way.

Mobo: Go for the top of the line Epox non sli motherboard, it's supposed to be rather good.
