help me come up with a home theater setup

Moving and the setup will be in the bedroom, it's not a very big room. Not exactly sure, but 12x12 or abouts. If it makes a bit of damn difference the TV's the LG 55UH7700. I want to have surround sound but with my initial budget, I'd rather hold off and start with a decent receiver and a couple speakers.

Yamaha RX-V381BL receiver - I am not partial to any brand here. I read some reviews and this seems awesome for the price.

Polk TSI300 or 400's, like above not stuck on any brand. I would like something with a cherry finish though. Overkill for such a small room? I'm also looking at Polk monitors

My budget's around $750, but I could wait a week and add another $150 with other suggestions. Will be used mostly for music and movies. After a few months I want to add some rear speakers and a sub, possibly a center channel. So suggestions for those would be awesome sauce.

I like all your picks, suggest you go visit some audio forums for reviews of each piece before you buy it.
Do NOT trust Amazon reviews for any audio equipment. Casual consumers dont know anything and will steer you into horrible choices.

Go and audition, and that means not at Best Buy. Do not take any opinion from the web, use them as a guide. Your ears are what makes the decision, not others.

For cherry and cheap these are hard to beat. Pretty universal positive reviews. Go with B Stock for even cheaper at $90/each. Could probably squeeze in the matching center b-Stock as well. Check the AVS forum for an extremely long thread of owners of these speakers. Never heard them but for the price and both professional and amauture owner reviews don't see how you can go wrong.

I'd go with this receiver for $241 shipped.

Grand total of $700 to your door step for a solid 3.0 system you could build onto down the road.
