Help me choose!

O boy I'm in a bit of a pickle here.

First of all its been decided that I'm going to buy a Opteron 165 for my CPU.

This is where the problem comes.

I currently have a 6800 vanilla in my system.

Option 1:
Opteron 165
6800
AsRock Dual SATA2 Mobo

Option 2:
Opteron 165
New PCI-e Video Card
DFI Mobo

**Basically the only thing holding me back from option 1 is the overclockability of the AsRock Mobo**

The second option sure sounds nice to my ears, but makes my wallet cower. I would really like to not spend that much money for a whole new CPU, GPU, AND Mobo.

The only thing I worry about with the AsRock, is that its OC is sub-par to DFI's and im thinking i wont be getting my moneys worth on the OC of the Opteron.

But, on the other hand, the AsRock allows me to have my AGP card and have an optional PCI-e slot ready for when I get the money.

What should I do?

Have you unlocked the 6800? That would keep you going awhile longer until you're ready to spend money on a PCI-E card...

nope ive overclocked and can only unlock one of the options (cant remember now, did it soo long ago )

You can always buy a DFI motherboard and new PCIe graphics card later if you want to. If you can't afford it then you can't afford it. As a side note if this is for gaming you'd do better buying a single core, DFI and a new graphics card.

Yup I know, but a new GFX card and Mobo would cost me about $150 more than what im trying to pay now.

Im also trying to hold myself until DX10, then doing a big revamp.

Try not to invest too much and save for core 2 duo...If you are going with the assrock board because the 6800 is AGP that makes sense...otherwise get an AM2 chip if you are going the full upgrade path.....From the few AM2's I have seen seem to be ocing as well as the opterons of late were....
