Honest to god Question here. If this turnes into a fanboy fest, I or the mods will shut it down. I have been HARDCORE ATI for years now. Now I have been looking and the idea of going to Nvidia intrigues me. I have 400$USD to spend, What vid card do I buy!

I don't know why you wouldn't just ante up the $130 or so extra and get the 7800GTX? But if you are deadset on spending only $400 I don't see how you could go past this card.

Hold off 6-7 weeks if you can there should be a 7800 available for $400.00

I guess by your sig that you are using AGP? If so, you can get a 6800GT for like 290-320$.

Since 7800 series isn't available in AGP format, the sweet spot is $284 Leadtek 6800GT.

You could always get an EVGA card since they have a 90 day step-up program. However, it is not expected for Nvidia to produce AGP 7800 cards....unless 7600 cards end up cheaper or the same price and offer greater performance, and are released in AGP. Your other option would be to wait until august/september for ATI's R520 cards.
