Help Me Choose Which Budget Card For Gaming

i am leaving at 7:30 to go get my parts so any information before then would be great, otherwise i will have to wing it.

i have $75 to spend including tax on a video card...
here are my choices :

http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0325752
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0330713
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0310468
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0344234

or i could get a used geforce 8500 512mb for $15

i dont care about playing games on HIGH, i just want to be able to play any game on low/medium.

its gonna go in a q9300 system with 4gb DDR.

My opinion:

1st - all the cards you posted are overpriced!

2nd - for $89 you can get a SAPPHIRE 5670 which is way faster than any of those you posted (at microcenter)

3rd - if you really have to pick one of those four, go with the ATI 4650

Keep in mind that for $70 in a decent store you should be able to get an ATI 4670 or a 5670 (both of them are much faster than any of those, specially the 5670 which already has dx11 support)

the 5670 is $109.99 at microcenter.
i could theoretically order one online, but my motherboard doesnt have onboard video so i would have to wait for it to arrive to use my new system & who wants to do that? lol

It might be my mistake but u sure it aint $89.9 ???

For a little less... the 5570 with DDR3

Well, prices appart, this is the order for which your should get you gfx card (from the worse to the best):

ATI 4650 (DDR2) < ATI 4670 (DDR2) < ATI 4670 (DDR3) < ATI 5570 (DDR3 - the GDDR5 will perform much better)< GeForce 9600GT < ATI 5670

For the 9600GT you'll need 6pin connector and dont mind buying 1Gb versions of those cards cause you wont ever use more than 512mb 🙂

OP, it would be helpful if you told us which location that you are going to and what the sales tax rate is. Of the ones that you have listed, I would get the 4650.

EDIT: Also, "Hybrid Crossfire" no, just no.

I dont know what that ''hybrid crossfire'' is, but I wouldnt trust it would help in nothing...

The onboard ATi 4200 will hardly play modern games on low, I had an ATI 3450 which was a little faster than the 4200 an I'll tell you the games I played and at which res:

PES - 1024*768 nicely
Resident Evil 5 - unable to play at 800*600
Star Wars Force Unleashed - 6 frames per second at 800*600 (unplayable)
Street Fighter IV - 800*600 with medium\low detail
HL2 - 1024*768 nicely
F1 2010 - 640*480 medium detail or 800*600 low detail
CoD MW - 1024*768 low detail and with some breaks
Prototype - 1024*768 low detail

Get at least a 4650, that will allow you to play most of the games at 1024*768 with high detail!

Look around on the FS thread there is a EVGA GTX 260 for $95 Shipped... Sure you will have to wait a little bit for shipping... but, you will get a better card!

Sharonville Ohio Location, Sales Tax is 7%
So Hybrid crossfire is just marketing eh?

i didnt know if one of these lower end cards would perform better using that is all.

also is this SSD junk?

If you absolutely cannot spend more than $75 out of pocket, then get your 4650. Otherwise, I would get this 9600GT which will be within your budget after rebate.

As for the SSD, I couldn't find out which controller it uses, which means that it could very well be absolute junk.
