Help me choose: Sony T610 or Sanyo 8100?

I'm trying to decide between the 2. Each has its' own high and not-so-high points.

Here are some of the things I'm thinking about that's making it tough...

1. Bluetooth
T610 has it, 8100 doesn't. I think this is actually a considerable advantage for the T610.

2. Clamshell vs. Candybar
I prefer the folding 'clamshell' type phones actually. But I'm open minded and might go with the T610 easily enough

3. Sharing pictures
With the 8100, which is Sprint service, I'd have to add on the 'PCS Vision' service. With the Bluetooth enabled T610 I could just sync with PC/PDA. Then again, the whole 'novelty' of picture taking with a cameraphone wears off pretty quick, so this might not be a huge deal.

4. Cell service in NJ/NY
T-Mobile seems decent (from the opinions of coworkers), haven't heard much about Sprint in these areas.

I guess I just have to check the phones out at the stores and just make a decision from there.

I always used to think Sprint's service was bad... until I got Verizon. My cell phone never picks up in my house or any other building for that matter. Basically I can only use it when I'm in my car or outside. I miss sprint........ 🙁

Sprint in NY/NJ is THE WORST! I speak from experience, from myself to my sister and my dad. We've all HAD (notice past tense) Sprint. Now they're both on Verizon and I'm on T-mobile. T-mobile works beautifully in the city.

I live in Manhattan and have a T610 + TMobile. I have to say of all the phones I've owned, in all the places I've lived, and all the services I've had...this is the best. Bluetooth rules, the phone's interface is absolutely awesome, it's well made, and the reception is great!

I just ordered a T610 which should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to recieve it. From the reviews I've read, it seems to be a very good phone.

Actually, TMobile isn't that great in the city... I'm walking around with my Sanyo 5300 while my friend has the Samsung from TMobile, which according my local friendly TMobile dealer has superior reception in contrast to the Sony-Ericssons. He has less than half reception in a lot of areas... I'm walking around with full signal. But neither is great once you leave NY and go into north NJ. VZW is good everywhere in our area.

I'm disappointed by Samsung's Sprint phones (I'm a VZW and PCS dealer). And the TMobile is disappointed by Sony-Ericsson's phones is the bottom-line... stay away from those phones... repeat... PHONES, not PDA... not camera... it's a PHONE.

Why not get the Z600. It's basically the T610 with very minor improvements in a clamshell design.

I don't know...TMobile has been great for me in the city. The bars on your display really don't mean anything. I judge a good service by the number of dropped calls. I've never had one with TMobile.

I don't like the 8100. Too thick. I wouldn't bother getting a camera phone. I've hardly ever used it because the image is so horrible.
