I have a sparkle 350watt but it only delivers 10a on 12v rail....I think this may hold me back in my stability at 2.61ghz...

I am leaning towards 2 items:

Please give me your thought with maybe some nmumbers you are seeing on the 12v rail with them...idle/load...

ENERMAX EG365P-VE(FM). 350W Power supply for AMD K7 & Pentium4. Meet ATX 2.03 & ATX +12V 1.1 Version. Pentium 4 supported ! Compliant with AMD K7. Gold plated connectors provide perfect conduction. Dual fan design of E type PSU and all with thermal control function. +5Vsb output current 2.2A output. Cable tube tied design for neatness. Noiseless & High MTBF. Retail box. Model#: EG365P-VE(FM) Special FedEx Saver Shipping $6.00

Antec ATX12V 350 Watt Power Supply - Retail 6-output, dual fan-cooled. For Pentium 4. Model#: PP352X Special FedEx Saver Shipping $8.00

Both are close in price with the enermax maybe about 7-10 bucks more...not really an issue...

I just bought a ENERMAX EG365P-VE(FMC) Power Supply from big008.com and it should be here in about 5 days...

I was forced to get a new PSU...I couldnt get Stable running 3dmark and Prime95 over 133FSB.

I was thinking about getting that Antec 400watt, it has a 17A MAX +12 rail...this Enermax I am getting has a 20A MAX +12 rail.

Anything should be better then my 300watt sparkle PSU which has a 11A MAX +12 rail..even @133FSB, MBM showed that the +12 was running at 11.11, Im told this is really low...

Im praying that this new PSU will solve everything..Im shooting for 2.2-2.4ghz Stable! If I get anything in there I will be happy...
I hope it isnt my memory....I dont think it is..but who knows..I have 256mb Crucial PC2100 DDR SDRAM...I have had this stick for about 8months when I used it with my OLD 1ghz T-bird-C w/ K7S5A....on that it was fine at 145FSB Stable...but i wouldnt be surprised if it went higher because as you may know, the k7s5a isnt the greatest OC'ing mobo around...HEH!!

thanks so far....

2 for the enermax and 1 for a write in vote on the 400watt antec....at 73 + sh that is a bit more then I want to spend...I am hoping to get something out of my 350 sparkle which was really an amd designed power supply and is a top performer when it comes to delivering on the 3.3 and 5v rails...I could sell for 35 shipped and only spend 20-25 out of pocket expense...

I the Enermax 365 and it's a great ps. Runs my 1.6A at 2.1G, 2-256 Rdram, 2 HDs, AGP, Soundcard, SCSI card with CDrom and CDRW, a 120mm and 4 80 mm fans.
12v runs from 11.76-11.92
5V from 5.00-5.03
+3v 3.3-3.42
etc
I 'm not familiar with the Antec, but the Enermax has served me well for the past year, 1st with a P3 and now with this P4.
Also, not sure if your mainboard has this, but the Enermax has an "AuxPWR" plug, which my TH7-II uses, helps the +3 and +5

The leads in Enermax PSUs are nice and long(I like that for my full tower) and do have both a 350w and 431w Enermax PSUs ,never had any problems with my Enermax PSUs , however Antec PSUs are also very good so not really a lot between them,I do like those long leads so I would go Enermax however I know some people don`t like them long.

I use the pp352x and it's a great power supply, as are all Antecs. The all-important (for P4's, anyway) 12V rail is consistently steady around 11.91-11.96 for general office use and I've never seen it dip below 11.78 under the heaviest use. And that's without even using the adjustable pots.

If it matters to you, I can use it to power a P4-1.6A@2.4G with stock voltage, plus DVD, CDRW, two HDDs, a GeForce3, and other misc crap. So unless you have significantly more parts than that I would not get the 400W Antec if I were you--350W is adequate. What's more, with the pp352x or the Enermax you will get dual fans, which can make a significant difference for your temps, especially in a cramped case.

Mem makes another good point: the cables for the Enermax are very long--if you have a full tower case this is good but for a minitower it can be a serious PITA. Just something to think about...
