Both are 128MB, are MP3/WMA players, as well as portable USB harddrives (simply plug in, no wires)... but there are a few differences, maybe someone can help me out and help me make a decision.
The Philips is rechargeable through the USB port, that's definitely cool since I could recharge on anyone's USB port, but it only has 6.5 hours of playback. There is an external battery thingie though, so you can just power it up with an AAA battery if the rechargeable battery dies. But that's like another thing to carry around all the time too.
The Nomad isn't rechargeable, but it has 12 hours of playback on a single AAA battery. But at least it'd be just one unit and not have to carry an external battery pack.
Also, I'm thinking of a Nomad Muvo NX, which has the LCD screen, and it's pretty much the same, but it has a built in voice recorder - how good are those kind of voice recorders anyway? Could I record a little guitar playing and singing? I'm not expecting great quality, but just enough so you can kinda hear it... Would it be comparable to sound recorder in Windows?
Thanks guys, maybe you can offer some alternatives to these gadgets here. I definitely need mp3 playability, and the ability to transport files through the USB port. (Rules out the IRiver mp3 players, since those connect through a USB cable).
