help me choose good games to play!

1) What are some good racing simulations out there? i m looking for PC equivalents of Gran Turismo and the like. NFS Porsche Unleashed was also fun.

2) How about MMORPGs? Preferably some game where you can walk around and explore, as opposed to flying in a space craft all the time.

Someone recommended a rather fun arcade style racer awhile ago - Trackmania Sunrise. It's not even close to a sim (arcade handling, physics, and aerobatics), so it might not be what you're looking for. There is a demo available to try out a couple of tracks.

for MMO's i had alot of fun with City of Heroes but i found a realy good group. playing solo it can get old shortly but the same is true for most. are you into PvP? is spending large amounts of time farming bad guys to get uber armor/weapons fun for you? if yes then World of Warcraft is for you, if not give City of Heroes a shot. if you like PVP but not the item farming Guild wars is heavy on the PVP but not alot of focus is needed on the euquipment. the RPG angle isn't to bad either.

no, i think i will avoid WoW... i m not into those kinda strategy games... plus i heard that it is uber-addictive...

WOW is good for exploring. It's my first MMORPG and the size of the whole world is absolutely mind-boggling.

PvP = player versus player, fighting other players rather than NPCs controlled by the PC.

WoW is not a strategy game like the other editions in the warcraft series, it is an MMORPG.

Battlefield 2 demo is fun if you can't afford the full game, Counter Strike Source is a good one, UT2004 is fun and you can find it for like $15 - $20 CND used maybe new.

Americans Army is a full free game pretty fun after training

These are multiplayer games.
