Please anyone!
Can somone tell me between Geforce 4 Ti 4400 deluxe and Geforce FX 5200(Both ASUS)
which is better?
And no need to refer ATI radeon as much as i like ATI but the fact is that they are not available in India and these are the only cards that i can get.
So anyone plz help me choose between them. I am not a hardcore gamer:D More of the casual type but at the same time bit advanced then MX variant type gamers........ I hope u got the point.
I am running Amd 2400+ with asus n-force chipset motherboard with 256 DDr ram

Get the Ti4400. There's no DX9 games out right now that the 5200 will be needed for, and the 4200 delivers MUCH better performance in games that are out today.

*EDIT* The 5200 will be a dog for DX9 games anyway... I have a feeling the only reason it was released was so nVidia had DX9 capable cards available right now like ATI does.

That`s easy,go with the GF4 Ti4400,it`ll be a lot faster then the FX5200.

Very easy choice, go with the Ti4400 because there isn't any DX9 games available right now. By the time DX9 games are available in any quantity Nvidia would of probably released something better than the FX5200.

Hi,
Thanks to all of you. The only reason i was confused was that Geforce FX had dx9 capability.
Anyway there isone more slight problem. What is the difference between ti4800 and ti4400 cards. Obviously ti 4800 is costlier but is it worth that much extra cost(Here in India its more then Geforce 4800ti then 1000Rs (thats about 30$)
Based on the price difference and features is it worth to buy 4400 or 4800?
Thanks in advance.

As you can see in my rigs, I am on the Ti4400 and bought it when the 4800's were also available. I chose it because it is still on the larger PCB and uses (IMO) a better power distribution scheme.

Either card will perform great for you, but unless you have an 8X MoBo (and actually believe it makes any significant difference to run 8x) I highly recommend the Ti4400 for less $.

thanks......
I was inclined towards 4400 anyway:)
But what you said interests me. does 8X not give you significant gains. I always thought that performance improves quite drastically(OK i read it in video card reviews)

I wish I had a good answer for you, but I don't.

From what I seemed to keep seeing when 8x was getting introduced, many posters were indicating a belief that the whole 8x thing was more marketing than substance.

There used to be lots of threads about this. I think Anand also has articles about it on the Anandtech site. If you do a little searching around, hopefully you can find some of this to read up.

AS far as AGP x 8 We will need the bandwith one day( just not now) but they (whoever agreed on AGP 3.0 are more covering thier a*ses for the future than bringing something NEW to the market (I think a sort of parralell would be CAR makers having to meet changing standards (emission saftey etc) But right now the AGP 2.0 standard is getting close to being unsuitable for some Soon to be released applications.Mind you the everyday gamer wont really be looking at anything that actually uses the bandwith AGP 3.0 for a long time yet my guess is about 2 years before you will see any consumer software that actually NEEDS and USES agp3.0

PS agpX8 right now in my gf4ti4200 gave me a HUGE 2 fps boost (yes 2to 3 fps) and like 7 more 3dmarks in 2001se lol
BUT PLEASE PLEASE DONT BUY A GFFX 5600 is about the same performance as ti 4400 4600 4200 but at a COST and the 5200
IS the replacement for the M X series So its performance reflects this. MY ADVICE!!! WITH THE RECENT RELEASE OF THE GFFX 5900 ultra
We are about to see another round of competition wich means cheaper prices.Just dont let the urge to BUY win for a few months.I think THIS CHRISTMAS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST TIME TO GET THE NEWER PARTS. It is almost end of financial year stocktake time so all the distributors and reselers will going to try get all the GF4 stock lines cleared before ordering large amounts of OF FX products.
