I have an oak desk that has a cabinet on one side where I would like to place my computer. I used to have a 1040B underneath the desk, but want more leg space. The desk can be seen here, it is the desk to the right.

The measurements to the cabinet on the right are 18.5" H x 12" W x 19" D

I also have 9" on either side of my 19" monitor where I could put a case if the cabinet doesn't work out.

My choices:
Inwin V523P MicroATX that measures 16.00" (H) x 7.00" (W) x 13.75" (D)
Antec PLUS 660 that measures 17.25" (H) x 8.1" (W) x 18.6" (D)

I would even like to go Lian-Li, but the 19" depth is a big concern as it would have to hang out the cabinet (not that I plan on keeping the door closed).

How much space do I need behind the case for proper air flow?

I guess I could get creative and vent the case out the back of the desk as there is about 2" between the back of the desk and the wall.

Help me make up my mind. Thanks!

The V-series Inwins are microATX... do you have a microATX (or flexATX) motherboard? Even if you do, I'd still vote for the 660B based on its better intake vents, ease of access and included fans (and I own a V500 myself, it's a "service loaner" I keep at work).

I would go with 660B. Antec simply makes good stuff. Also, look for other stuff in the 600 series. All of them are good.

Antec 660. I've built a couple of rigs in the last few months for "spacially challanged" people using this case. It's a real nice case. Cools well with few fans so it runs real quiet. Roomy enough inside to work on MoBo and drives. *Some* video cards come close to HDDs in mounting bracket. On these you will have to remove vidcard before you can remove HDD rack. No real biggy but keep it in mind.

If you like your 1040, you'll like the 660 too. I have a SX10x0 for my rig and I like the SX635/660s that I've used for other peeps rigs.
