Help me choose an MP3 Cd player.

I have been looking at different portable music solutions to replace my old panasonic cd player. I dont like the idea of using memory cards or things like like that because of the amount of storage and cost. I dont want to use minidisk because everything else i have uses cds. I have decided on an mp3 cd player becuase cds are cheap and i can store about 150 songs per cd. I am looking at the Rio SP250, Sony DCJO1, TDK Mojo, and theIRiver 350. Also i have seen that the mini cd players are starting to come out. How would those compare to these players? For the people that have any of these, could you comment on the size, volume, battery life, ease of use, the lcd display, and any other pros and cons that you have about the players.

The IRiver SlimX, easily. It plays VBR encoded MP3s, is quite small and light, has internal rechargable batteries + an extra AA battery pod for even more life. Plenty of output so it will power most 32 and 64 ohm cans. Has both a headphone and line-out jack. Excellent folder navigation, great sound, the list goes on and on. I can't say enough good things about mine. 🙂

Actually the Iriver was at the bottom of the list just beause of its cost, and i dont like the idea of using the remote. I have heard some really good things about that player, but at $200 it is a little out of my price range. It is on the list just becuase i heard it was good and i kinda want to see how it compares to the other ones. If enough people say i should go with the Iriver, then i may be able to talk my self into spending the extra money because i jsut want somthing that will last. I have had my current cd player for 4 years and i plan on keeping my next one for that long too.

I too, would vote for the Iriver, but since it is on the bottom of your list, I would go with the RioVolt SP250 - The Mojo's firmware is not upgradable (so there will be no bugfixes down the road) and I wouldn't go with sony, knowing their record on copy protection, even if the player is superb.

I was holding out for Sony since last winter (It was rumored to be released last summer, but never was). When I saw the iRiver SlimX, I almost gave in. Then when I sow Sony's disappointing display at CES I knew it was the iRiver SlimX for me.
