Help me choose an LCD

My objective is to get the largest monitor I can that works well for gaming and spend under $600(as much under as possible). I am currently considering 2 models:

ViewSonic VP171B
Dell 1800FP

The Viewsonic is only 17" but has the fast 16ms response time which means virtually no ghosting. The Dell is 18" but I have heard that it has some ghosting. From what I can gather it really bothers some people but others don't really notice it. So I'm not sure. I was originally thinking about 19" monitors but they all seem to have problems with ghosting because they have slower response times. What monitor(s) would you recommend?

So far all the reviews have been pretty good on this LCD.

Also consider NEC/Mitsubishi 1760NX...also 16ms response time, a great monitor with a cool look for $455 shipped from Newegg.
