Ok, I've come down to the nitty gritty, choosing a MoBo for the XP1600+ I will be shortly buying. This computer will be used for much gaming and graphics producting/editting. I'll be using 256 mgs of DDR, 40 gig IDE 7200rpm HD, a antec trupower 330 or 380 psu, and either a R8500 or Ti4200. I am on a tight budget, but also understand the value of spending a few extra bucks on a superior MoBo. I plan on future overclocking, with the goal of hitting 200 fsb (but thats not super high proirity). Also would like onboard sound and LAN (fairly high proirity there). Here's a list of canadites to this point:

ECS K7S5A - Simple, sweet...non VIA chipset...CHEAP!! Heard of lots of problems with these in the past (mostly due to cheap psus, from what I've gathered), but not so much lately...

IWILL XP333 - Good overclocking, also non VIA chipset...good onboard sound option, fairly inexpensive, haven't heard of many problems, but performance is just on par with kt266a chipsets, and less then kt333 (stock anyway). Seems like a good canidate to get near 200 fsb though...this was the board I had my heart set on before KT333 came out...

Gigabyte GA-7VRXP - Good sound and LAN, did VERY well on benchmarks at TomsHardware, sounds like a good OCer. Have heard mixed reviews about its stability (I don't need the headaches of fighting an unstable card). Higher end of the price range that I've been looking at...

SOLTEK SL-75DRV5 - Been hearing LOTS of good things about this card. TomsHardware said the 266a version was a great OCer, I assume this one is too. Nicely priced as well. But AC 97 audio (blah!) and no on board LAN...

Epox EP-8KHA+ - I think I've seen this one refurbished for 41 bucks...sounds like a good deal to me! Also heard good things about neweggs refurbished cards (I'm shopping at newegg, btw). This is the 266a card I like...I like the features it has and stuff. Just seems like 41 bucks for the MoBo is a steal...

Alright guys, I'm open to all opinions (although I'd like to keep the discussion "AMD Motherboards" orientated...Intel is too expensive for me, don't try to talk me into it, and I don't want any opinions about the vid cards, PSU, case, etc....). Thanks, I really appriciate it, because I know there are tons of other threads just like this out there!

You left out the Shuttle AK35GT2R.

It has highpoint raid, C-Media 5.1 sound card, and the KT333 chipset.

Cost less than $99 at Mwave and Newegg.

Best Bang for your buck.

Uhhh, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. The only thing I've seen even remotely close is a P4 at around 175FSB. I doubt you will get an AMD anywhere near 200 any time in the forseable future. Not trying to talk you into Intel either; it's just a fact.
FWIW, the Epox EP-8KHA+ is a nice, stable board for the most part and an excellent overclocker. If you go the refurb route, just make sure you have the parts to test it out soon after it arrives; there's a time restriction on returns.

Alright, point taken on the 200 fsb thing...I had heard of people getting around 190, but I don't know the details of it. Thanks for the info on the epox board (there is a 30 day limit for returns at newegg for refurbs!)
