Help me choose a suitable dual display setup

I've read the AT Feb roundup and looked through various threads in the forum, but I am still having trouble deciding the most suitable dual display setup for my use.

- 3D performance: I couldn't care less if Quake 3 ran at only 15 fps 😛
- 2D quality/performance does matter
- I only use Windows 2000
- Good, solid drivers would be nice
- Not really interested in large, combined screen (2048x768, etc desktops). I want to run different apps in different monitors.
- The primary use of the dual display setup will be to load sample code or whitepapers on the 2nd monitor while coding on the other one.
- Shortcut keys: this matters A LOT. I need to be able to use shortcut keys to switch between the 2 monitor desktops.

So far I ditched GeForce2 MX Twinview.

I need to decide from:
- AGP + PCI setup (2 video cards)
- ATI Radeon VE (concerned mostly about drivers)
- Matrox G4xx DualHead

Which one do you recommend, and why?

Is AGP + PCI setup able to support multiple desktops?

Thanks.
