Hi,

i am building the following rig:

evga 780i
q6600
2 x 9600gt
4g ddr21066
1 x optical drive

i was deciding between the ocz gamer psu and the pcpwrcl both 700w i think, both sli ready
however i got hung up on 2 issues,

1. the ocz lists this connecter 12v 4/8 pin...... i need 8pin, i have no idea what 4/8 pin means!!! is it adaptable?

2. the pc pwr and cooling one says "sli ready 8800gtx and below" well my 9600s are inferior to 8800gtx cards but i suppose they technically are a later model... sort of confusing.

i just need a pwr supply to run sli and my otherwise very not demanding rig. i need an 8 pin cpu plug for my psu, as my old sunbeam 650 watt sli ready stupid device only has 6 pin and has ruined my life

any input would be great, i know this isnt the most exciting question

p.s. these psus are 100 and 150 dollars respectively. price is sort of an issue bc while balancing my budget i had planned to reuse my old psu. DOH!

4/8 pin means you can separate the 8-pin to have 2 4-pins.

9600GTs suck way less power than an 8800GTX.

I would say you could pick a less expensive power supply, but why not get a 700 watt? Both are good companies.

thanks for the input, im hoping with a 700w i could still have room for graphics card upgrades in the future. i just cant see 1000w+ psus being necessary for me for quite a while.
