Howdy People-

I'm looking to get a new tower/mid-tower. I want to consolidate my WHS and my PC into one machine. As a result the machine will be in my den and be on all the time. Priorities for me are as follows:

  • Drive Mounting: The mounting of the drives should be quiet. I don't want to hear the drives. This is important to me. It'll probably have 1-2 SSDs and 3-4 HDDs.
  • Airflow: Moderate. Adjustable would be nice. If I need a bigger case so I can have more slower turning fans I am OK with that.
  • Cooling capacity: Just needs to be OK. Right now I don't even have a GPU or even a fan on my heatsink in my Prodigy (using directed case airflow). However, my WHS currently handles transcoding video right now so I will probably need to at least get a CPU fan for the new machine. I keep hoping to make some time for gaming and get a good GPU some day.
  • Design: It should be a tower or a mid-tower. Not one of those cubes.
  • Size: Not much of an issue although it should not be more than about 24" deep
  • Cost: Not much of an issue. I don't buy cases too often so willing to spend for quality/features
  • Look: Pretty open on this, but on the conservative side. I'd prefer not to have a window but can live with one if needed to get a better overall package.

I'm just consolidating all my storage into one machine.... dropping WHS and moving to Win8.1 Pro.
