Help me choose a new gfx card!

Heres my specs : Core2Duo 8500, 4gb ocz plat edition, gigabyte UD3P Mobo

Im considering 2 x 4850`s in xfire, a 1gb 4870, a geforce gtx 260 core 216, or any other suggestions. Im tryin to keep it @ 400 or below.

Get the GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 if you want to play older games like GLQuake and Unreal. ATI's cards have a problem in this area.:thumbsup:

I really dont care about older games, but what i am going for is the best bang for my $ , like i said 400$ is the limit.

With new drivers, it seems 260 216 is better than 4870 1gb on games across the board. I don't know if gddr5 will make much of a difference for future games though it does seem to make up some of the deficit to the 260 216 in ultra high res (2560x1600).
So to sum it up 260 216 is a better performer at about the same performance though it's entirely possible the 4870 with gddr5 will perform better on some future games. One factor I see is that your mb doesn't support SLI so depending on if you want to go multi-gpu in the future, it may be better to get a ATi card.
