I'm looking for a new car - ideally one with a bit more power than my aging Hyundai Accent.

It should be reasonably priced, be reasonable to insure, have readily available spare parts[*], have sensible fuel consumption, be reliable, drive well and not depreciate excessively. I'm looking at a budget of around UK£ 12k.

I've narrowed my choices down to:
2000-2001 VW Golf V6 4 motion
2000-2000 Subaru Impreza WRX
2003 Honda Civic Type R
2000-2001 BMW 325
2000-2001 Audi A3 1.8T
2002 Hyundai Coupe V6

The golf is top of my list, but suggestions are welcome.

BMW all the way. I was all geared up to open the floodgates of Hate on the "Type-R" but then I noted the EU currency and realized that's probably what the Si/SiR is called over there. :)

They have a full out Type-R in Europe, doesn't have much in common with the Si's or SiR's

No contest here, though it looks like a few people accidentally clicked the BMW option while aiming for the A3.

A low-mileage EDM GC8 WRX would definitely be the way to go among those choices. I wish we could've gotten those over here in the States.
