Hi Everyone,

I have owned the Benq FP241VZ for 2 years and a half now. Very like it . However, I want to upgrade my monitor.

I am new here and already read the sticky thread for the LCD in this forum. However, i still can't find my answer so i decide to ask for helping. The followings are my requirement (starting from the MOST importance to the LEAST importance)

1. I will read a lot of ebook through my monitor so i don't want any monitor which will give eye constraint. Any monitor can let me use it for 24/24 hr without making my eye feel tired.
2. I will watch a lot of video on my monitor so i want to get the best experience from it
3. For game, sometimes i play games but not really high graphic demanding games.

That's all. Money is no subject to me. However, if you can , you can give me one in the range 500$. One in the range 1000$ and the other one in the range 1500$.

thank you for your helping

Well, are you looking for another 24" monitor, or a step up from that?

Also, would you be purchasing this in the US or somewhere else?

I can't find any info on the FP241VZ, I assume you meant the WZ.

The screen you have is basically better than anything currently made at 24", except for maybe Dell/HP/LG's IPS panels, but I've read that quality control has been very bad on them and they have issues with uneven backlighting, among other things.

Your best bet is to pick up a 30" IPS panel, like the Dell 3008WFP, or similar.

I am looking for 24in -26in.
I bought the Benq FP241WZ two and a half year ago so i thought the technology must have improved right now.

my monitor is still usable. I just want to buy something better.

I checked benq website again. However, it seemed like that they have just changed their website. There are too many new monitors without price listing. So i don't know which one is their best monitor now

In addition, it seems like that the benq F series has been discontinued.

I live in US. so I will buy online if the recommended monitor isn't in US

Your monitor has an MVA panel, which is generally superior to the crappy TN panels flooding the market, and it doesn't have all of the image post-processing most new MVAs and PVAs have, which causes them to have significantly more input lag.

BenQ shopper often has FP241's in stock in their online store, sometimes refurbished. I often recommend these screens to people looking for a good 24" panel on the cheap. You really aren't going to find anything significantly better in the 24" range.

NEC EA231WMi
Pros:
- $315-360 street price
- E-IPS panel
- Tilt, swivel, and other ergonomics
- 4 port USB hub
- VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort
- Great colors and overall image quality considering the price (rivals some $500-600 monitors)
- Built-in speakers (though their quality is far from superb)
Cons:
- Some people report uniformity issues (one half is bluer than the other)
- Some people report blacklight bleeding
- 23", as opposed to 24"
- 1920x1080 (16:9), as opposed to 1920x1200 (16:10)
- No native HDMI (need HDMI to DVI adapter)

I just bought one of these, and I'm completely impressed for the price. It's a GREAT monitor. Though it does have its problems (panel uniformity mostly), the problems seem to be less apparent than more expensive monitors, such as the Dell U2410 or HP LP2475w

If you want a REALLY good monitor, I suggest one of the professional $1000 deals, like the NEC LCD2490WUXi, or perhaps LCD2490W2 (Google for reviews first). Generally these are complete overkill unless you do professional photo work for a living.

thank you for all everyone 's input. Really appreciated.
So do you know which monitor will give me the best watching movie experience without eye constraint?

2. what is the best current Benq monitor(their top of the line) right now?
I checked their global website . However, the way they represent their website is too confusing.

thank you
