I've been thinking about getting an UPS. Power outages are uncommon here, but power surges during storms are (room lights start flickering and such).
Two affordable models that I found are:
APC BE550G-GR (Standby UPS)
http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BE550G-GR
Tripp Lite AVRX550UD (Line Interactive UPS)
http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtModelID=4620
To my surprise, Tripp Lite one is actually slightly cheaper. In fact it's the cheapest line-interactive UPS I've been able to find. Is there any reason NOT to buy it?
