Sentras are nice...I helped my gf find her car last year and it seemed to be about the best thing in her price range; don't rule out a Civic either - they're great cars.

What is wrong with Mitsubishi?? I just purchased a used 2002 Lancer ES for $8300 used with 18K miles on it. I had a 85 Mitsu truck and a 1988 Colt Vista and they both lasted almost 15 years and had about 165K mileage out of each of them. Honda's and Toyota's might be better cars(that's what the critics say) but the operating cost per mile is more expensive and a Accord or Corolla is still built here in America.

Just don't be a Lemming...

Whatever you do, don't buy a Mitsubishi!!!

I agree. Mitsubishi's are great looking cars but they are very unreliable!

I have decided... MAZDA PROTEGE 5 is my final decision. That car already comes tuned and is a nice small package. Really affordable as well. Plus, since it is a hatchback/wagon, it is different.

Now, I wonder how much insurance is though? I think i'll get yellow... =)

midsize = accord

Both the 4 and 6 are great motors. Great build quality. Incredible resale value.

compact = corolla

Dirt cheap, underrated motor (same as celica GT). Class leading build quality.

A sucky point tho is the 03+ have plastic intake manifolds that tend to crack when you add nitrous. :D
