Help me choose a camera for my gf: Nikon 3700 or Epson 500-L

The Nikon is around $35 cheaper AR than the Epson. I think the Nikon is probably a better all around camera, but the 2.5inch LCD of the Epson looks nice. Does anybody know more about Epson cameras? Are they made by Epson or they rebadge them?

I'd go with the Epson,

Epson does make quite a few cameras but they don't sell them in the USA.

And it's quite handy to have 5mp vs. 3.2mp
