Building a box and am trying to find a good AMD 64 motherboard that will not be overclocked.

SATA II RAID capabilities and support NCQ.

I am looking at THIS Gigabyte motherboard.

And using 2 of THESE hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration.

The box will be used as a webserver to test the guys website and as his primary machine...He does alot of video stuff, photoshop, flash...Pretty serious power user who is one of the few people I know that can make use of a rocket ship computer.

So whadda ya think ??? MSI...Asus...Gigabyte...Abit...???

I live a few blocks from Directron and hopefully they will have what you guys recommend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Links to reviews...Personal experience...Anything to help me make a wise decision.

Are you going to overclock? If yes, get DFI.. If you are not overclocking.. stay what you wanted.

Your mobo choice is fine, since the price differential between NF4 SLI and NF4 Ultra boards are minimal, but you may want to look at a larger capacity SATA2 Hitachi HDs.

I didn't read the thread, only the title, but personally, I'd go with the high end DFI boards. They rock the most by far.

Okay maybe what I really need to know is which chipset is the better performer.

Does the VIA or ATI chipsets support SATA II and out of the 3 which one is the better choice.

Rumor control has it that the DFI boards use extremely high quality parts compared to other manufacturers...If true then DFI will get a serious look.

nVidia nForce 4 ultra seems to have the upper hand...Comments ???
