i feel like such a n00b asking this question, but seriously, windows xp wont let me install the new drivers. i have the 40.91's, or whatever the newer one is, and it will not let me install it.

i uninstalled the old drivers from the hardware manager, rebooted, and it finds the 29.xx that comes with windows. when i run the .exe for the new drivers, it doesnt use it. it still uses the 29.xx

what the hell? im no idiot but i sure feel like one...i cant install drivers!

help please

p.s. its screwing up the fonts on IE and other programs now that i have been trying to install the new drivers

It should be that the program extracts the install files to a folder, then auto-runs the setup program. Are you not getting this?

You can first uninstall any drivers.

Then reboot, but pushing F8 all the while- so you can get into Safe Mode.

Then install the drivers of your choosing!

Hope this helps!
