Help me buy a Video card!

Anyhow, I'm positively STYMIED!

Brands aside, the big decision maker is whether to go Radeon or Geforce2 GTS.

The Radeon is supposed to be superior in 2D performace, but 'iffy' on a Win2k box. The GTS is supposed to be superior for 3D applications. GRRRRRRrrrr!!!

I run Win2k, I play games, I do Web Design (especially Photoshop), will be doing more 3D and I futz around with Video Editing.

HELP ME!!!!!

If you run win2k and gaming is important that GF2 is the obvious choice. If you really need good 2D then a Radeon is a better choice. If you are looking for something in between I'd get the GF2.

The Radeon will basically provide you 60+ fps in almost all games at 1024x 32bit plus all the extra features and image quality etc.. not to mention the price! Unless you're one of those insane monkeys who only cares about fps, the Radeon is an obvious choice!

Happy with my Radeon. Only a 32M DDR but performs flawlessly. I do a little of everything and happy so far. Can pick this one up under $100 easily. Running win98, dont know about 2000.

geforce ownz. You will not be disappointed with it.

radeon is okay but is saving $40 bucks worth having problems?

I am running my Radeon AIW in win2k with no problems the latest driver seems to have fixed any win2k probs with it. I have heard bad things about some of the GF2 drivers as well.

I have a 32 MB Radeon in win98 and it works great (for 82$ shipped you can't go wrong) however i heard that radeon driver support under win2k isn't that great

i have the radeon LE, not one single problem in win98se, dunno why everyone whines

I'm waiting until I can get a 64 mb card for less than $100. Until then, my V3 2000 plays all my games just fine. Not even a $600 card can help improve my cs skills.
