Sounds like marketing speak for dumping the inventory before releasing the Lance Armstrong Tour Model... :p

Sounds like he got a deal that most people would take any day.

What happened with the deal on that Litespeed?

I think most of the cyclists here (or anywhere) would take a litespeed, and if they wouldn't then they have something better or they're too stubborn to admit it.

How about a Colnago. They look cool and they are nice bikes. Probably more than you want to spend...

My dad sold a Fuji Team with carbon fork and Ultegra for a price (I can't recall, but seemed very low) to a friend at work. He was just pineing for a new Trombone and the Fuji was a new(maybe 2 years old) replacement for an old steel frame that had cracked under warranty. Just look around and if possible have a pro, at one of the shops, take a look at how the bike fits you. I definately would look into buying a clean, used bike as well, as some of the other people here have mentioned.

That bike, while super sweet ... had over 24k miles on it ...

They say titanium lasts forever, and its properties never change ... but 24k miles, don't feel bad that you missed it ...

They sell that for $1449 around my area.

Before you know it you'll be looking at $3000 bikes :p
I'd be buying a used one - hence the price check...

If I buy a $3000 bike, it will be because I sniped it on eBay for $999

I snagged an '03 Specialized Allez comp triple on ebay for $900, stock except for a selle san marco aspide saddle and look a5.1 clipless pedals. I'm gunning for a set of Mavic Ksyrium SSC SL's for it as well, which should put the bike into the 17 pound range. My advice to you is go to the LBS to find your size and what components you like, which frame you like the feel of best, etc. and then check out Ebay and craig's list. I came away with a 'like new' aluminum frame bike with carbon fork & seatpost and full ultegra group for under $1000, which would probably run you around $1500 from the bike shop or $2000 for the latest equivelant model.

Oh man, I only thought I had won. 2 seconds left and the bid jumped $150 and the reserve was met (more than I would have paid anyway...)

How tall are you?

I've been toying with the idea of selling my Gordon. :(
aren't those solid but heavy touring bikes or is yours an older custom one?

Never mind - I took a look at your bike pictures thread. Nice little ride you got there. I like its stealth nature...

WTF???? None of those bikes have motors on them? How are you supposed to ride a bike if it has no motor?

They're probably stupid and think they're supposed to use the pedals.

I got a fuji team 2002 bike for $1200 shipped. It has full ultegra and weighs like 15.2 pounds or something. It was a steal for the price compared to all the other bikes with full ultegra and the weight was still lighter by a fair margin. Only thing I replaced on the bike was the seat which was uncomfortable and I added some Look pedals.

did you get it used or you got it in 2002 for $1200?

If you're not a bike snob and don't really care for the name, sometimes Supergo has their Scattante CFR carbon bike with full Ultegra 10 for $1350 IIRC.
